Amazing stay could not fault . Facilities a1 everything from cleanliness to size and quality of finishes . Do yourself a favour get up early see the kangaroos at your doorstep and the hot air baloons floating by.

Amazing. Location so private and peaceful we had the resort to ourselves. The accomodation was spotless with all the extra touches required. We were quite happy sitting on the deck watching the kangaroos all day. Will definitely be back!

a peaceful and romantic retreat in a picturesque location. It was an unforgettable experience, the views from the retreat were absolutely breathtaking with the most stunning sunsets surrounded by rolling hills and Australian wildlife, which were enjoyed whilst we sipped lovely wine from their vineyard.

Highly recommend the sunset retreat ,luxury an secluded accommodation, clean and well presented, very comfortable and enjoyable to stay in, we would definitely rebook again on our next trip the host Camilla was very helpful when we had a slight Hiccup accessing the kayo and sorted it out promptly for us I would definitely recommend to use Black Wattle luxury retreats

We stayed for 2 nights on the June long weekend at Sunset Cottage. It was a very relaxing and comfortable stay. The cottage was well equipped, neat and clean with everything you need for the perfect getaway.The view was great and it was so peaceful watching the kangaroos hopping around.The fireplace made it very cosy.Would highly recommend and would book again.

We recently stayed @Sunset for a couple of days for our anniversary. The location was so quiet and romantic and beautiful. The place was impeccably clean and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.We have a suggestion for the owner/management to change the day bed in the Lounge area to something of a sofa which may or may not be converted to a sofa bed( if they had planned the sunset to be able to accommodate a family with child).We found the day bed to be very uncomfortable to sit and watch TV as there was no neck rest, given that we have a window behind that.

I had a wonderful stay in the Vineyard Retreat over the Australia Day weekend. It was incredibly relaxing and peaceful. The views were serene and created a sense of sanctuary. I made good use of the coffee machine on a daily basis 🙂 The bed was comfy, and I managed to find a pillow that suited me. Not an easy task normally! Good quality towels and linens were appreciated. The lounge was comfy but a shame it didn’t recline. No worry. I still could stretch out and relax.Watching the kangaroos and the hot air balloons was simply magical. I made sure I got up early each morning to watch the balloons. One morning was particularly sensational, as a balloon seemed to move along just over Wilderness Road. So close I could hear the blasts from the cylinders. So cool!The shower is amazing. Strong water pressure and hot water for days. I swear I could have stayed under it for the whole day haha.I’m loathe to bring it up, given I enjoyed myself, but I think it’s ultimately important to reflect the full experience. It looked as though the floors hadn’t been swept or vacuumed for a while. There were bits of grass everywhere when I had a closer look. The kitchen floor also needs a good mop. In certain light you can see small spills that have occurred at some stage but not cleaned. The bedroom floors need a good vacuum as well, and the furniture a bit of a dusting. The screen to the deck was off its rails.Having said that, I did very much enjoy this space and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thank you for sharing it with people in need of relaxation and tranquility. I most definitely will book again for the cooler months when I think it will be in its element.

The Sunset Retreat was the most beautiful place in the the most beautiful setting. The attention to detail in the Cabin was second to none, the comfiest bed we have ever slept in, amazing products in the bathroom, great shower and sunken bath and just beautiful views from every Window.

Stayed 2 nights in the Vineyard retreat. Very comfortable, neat,clean, everything you needed.Views were great from the large verandah. Close to lots of wineries. Very peaceful. Easy to find. Directions & entry access simple

Stayed a week at the Sunset Retreat. The service we received from Camilla was outstanding. Took full advantage of the fireplace in the retreat and fire pit outside. Retreat is very peaceful and had a great time observing the local wildlife. Perfect place to relax and de-stress. Did not want to leave. Will definitely be back in the future. Thank you.

We had a great time here at the sunset cottage! Great vistas from all angles, both an indoor and outdoor fireplace with plenty of firewood supplied, friendly wildlife, and a great location nestled in the heart of The Hunter Valley. Remote enough to feel secluded and private, but close enough to all the best wineries & restaurants.Would recommend 👍

Very quiet, private with lovely few of vineyards and mountains. Thank you for the lovely surprise box of Christmas goodies and we even had a Christmas tree.

We hired the vineyard retreat, this place is the best we have been to, in Australia. Better than top hotels. It has stunning views and everything we needed was readily available. It’s spotless clean. Thank you so much Blackwattle luxury retreat. Hope to come back to this place again

Was everything we wanted and more

Had the best time relaxing with my little family at this property. It had everything we could have possibly needed, all the creature comforts of home in the most idyllic setting. Chilling by the fire with our antipasto box and some wine whilst the kids jumped on the trampoline and swung on the tree swing was the absolute best. We can’t wait to come back!!

Gorgeous spot, quiet surrounds, perfect location to visit the wine farms. Everything was neat and clean and bedding, towels etc were great quality.
Fire place heated the place well.
Loved the kangaroos and bird life.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely beautiful little place. Sarah really went above and beyond. Perfect place for a peaceful getaway anytime of year.

The location was quite private, and very quiet which was perfect. You have a lovely view of the nearby properties and view of the mountains. It was close enough to the main roads and easy to get to from either side on the valley. The fireplace is very effective, we didn’t need the heaters at all!
It was a little on the expensive side but the privacy from the other cabins and the seclusion of the whole property was nice to have. A good stay for couples.

Very clean and the host provided a lot of supplies for the stay. The place has a nice view and was easy to check in. Sarah was also very good at communicating.

We loved our stay! It was so comfy and had the best location. Also loved the fire pit and the beautiful outlook.

Definitely will be staying here again!

We have just returned from a brilliant weekend away after hiring out the whole of Blackwattle with a group of friends. Our accommodation(Sunrise Retreat) was very comfortable, peaceful and beautifully decorated, combined with a beautiful backdrop of the mountain range and stunning sunsets. The well designed fire pit was lovely to sit around on a winters evening and have drinks with the group. We went the extra mile and hired a chef to cook for the adults and set up a large table on the lawn and had a beautiful five course lunch and hired a children’s entertainer for a few hours while we ate. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. Will definitely be back.

We booked the property at the very last minute but Sarah was very friendly and accommodating to take us in.We stayed here for two nights at the Sunset Retreat cottage and it is spectacular for couples.The colours at the sunset are amazing with a beautiful view of vineyards and kangaroos hopping all around. The property was decorated nicely and had every attention to detail. We felt more refreshed, relaxed and comfortable after our stay.Highly recommended!! ✨

These cottages are amazing everything you could need. The views are stunning and the interiors are finished beautifully. Great taste in decor. They are also very near to great wineries. Such a lovely Airbnb for a peaceful couples getaway. Great location in the Hunter valley, easy check-in and the place itself was amazing with a huge bath tub and great countryside views. Other cabins were far enough away, we never saw any other guests.

We had a lovely time here. Highly recommend for a weekend away in the beautiful hunter. Will definitely be staying here again next time 👌🏻
